Dr. Amran Dhillon

Co-Founder

MBBS BN DCH RN, Rural GP Anaesthetist,
Specialist Anaesthetic Trainee

Dr. Amran Dhillon always had a passion for delivering messages and public speaking. Starting out as a national youth representative for headspace, Australia he featured on national news across the country back in 2008 during a funding announcement for Headspace, Australia. Other early highlights include sharing the welcome address as the youth co-convenor with then health minister Hon. Nicola Roxon at the 1st International Youth Mental Health Conference held in Melbourne in 2010.

He has a passion for leadership and advocacy and was part of a national committee lobbying for mental health improvements led by former Australian of the year Prof. Patrick McGorry AO. He continued on in leadership roles throughout medicine as a member of various committees for rural health, general practice, local hospital networks, medical colleges and the Australian Medical Association. He is known for his advocacy in improvements for medical workforce conditions and has an interest in junior doctor wellbeing.

After finishing his specialist rural general practice training in 2018, he went on to undertake further speciality training in Anaesthetics. He has an endless array of interests and skills leading to his key involvement in the development of Media Doctors Australia.

He loves fashion, fitness, lifestyle health, music and dancing. He is a keen tennis player and loves running. Having competed in state hip hop competitions he isn’t afraid of the big stage. With multiple creative ambitions and a passion for education and communicating with people of all backgrounds and ages, it is no surprise that he has teamed up with fellow medical professionals to create this unique media medical platform.

Dr. Kelly Champane

Co-Founder

MBBS GCUT FRACGP, Specialist GP

Dr Kelly Champane is a specialist GP currently based In Melbourne. Apart from her clinical work, she can also be found doing research and teaching at the University of Melbourne and is currently pursuing her PhD.

She is a multifaceted doctor with a passion for public health, health & wellness, fashion, community work and leadership. She has her own blog and you tube channel, “Dr Kelly Champane” where she often shares her fashion gear, healthy lifestyle tips and motivational or inspirational messages. Based on her interest in conveying health messages to the community in a larger platform, Dr Kelly saw it fit to partner up with Dr Amran Dhillion and create 'Media Doctors Australia".

 She has an extensive history of academic achievements including being shortlisted for the Rhodes scholarship, Offered an RACGP scholarship to pursue an academic year at The university of Melbourne, just to name a few. She’s also held various leadership roles as a medical student and qualified doctor. She volunteers for various organisations and is currently one of the Western Bulldogs mentors for their GOAL community program. Dr Kelly has appeared in a few magazines nationally and internationally.

Apart from her work, she enjoys travelling, reading, meeting new people and seeing new places.

Joshua Walt

B.Sc, M.D. Candidate

Josh is a Canadian who has moved to Australia to study medicine at the University of Melbourne. He is currently transitioning into his third year of medical school, which is a part of his clinical years. Josh has always had a passion of promoting health and wellness in the greater community and believes his partnership with Media Docs Au his goal of delivering vital health information to the greater public and improve health literacy surrounding a wide range of medical topics will be accelerated.

He completed his Honours Specialization in Kinesiology (Bachelor of Science) at Western University in Canada. His degree had a large focus on anatomy, nutrition, physiology, and sports medicine where he had the chance to work as the student athletic therapist for the Varsity Ice Hockey Team.

Currently he is able to use his passion for education by tutoring medical students in their earlier years. In addition, he is able to continue to promote health and wellness as the Co-Executive Leader for Wellness and Special Events for the University of Melbourne’s MD Student Conference. This is the largest purely run student research conference in the world.

He loves all sports. Previously played for U19 Team Canada for Ice Hockeyand is looking forward to playing in the IHV in the new year. He previously I played varsity volleyball, competed in varsity tennis and swimming at the provincial level, and competed in cross country & track and field. Currently he is dedicating lots of his time towards training for triathalons. He also loves music and has played guitar since he was 7.

With ambitions and a passion for health literacy and education, he is looking forward to teaming with other health care workers and students totake part in this media medical platform where he feels he can do his part as a future health professional to deliver important health messages and raise awareness around health literacy.

Dr. Dalya Shaikbenzi

Dr. Dalya Shaikbzeni is a Kurdish speaking doctor who loves to engage with her community and the wider multicultural and diverse communities about health related issues. Dalya has always enjoyed helping people and loves to provide informative health information to give people the power to make more informed choices regarding their own health and the health of their families.

She has spoken at a number of health conferences in both government and non government Institutions including; the Cancer Institute, NSW Local Health Districts, Family planning, UNSW, UWS and Sydney University.

Dalya enjoys creating health content for social media and other digital platforms where she likes to engage with her audience and the wider community about current and emerging health issues. She has a growing number of audience on her social media channels with over 15k followers from all around the world.

She has a special interest in women’s health, in particular issues related to infertility. Dalya is also really interested in exploring the generational differences of CALD women and sexual health diseases. Along with her training to become a fertility specialist, She is also currently undertaking some research with UNSW to identify and explore significance, attitudes and approaches of sexual health diseases amongst people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Dalya loves spending time with family, lifestyle health, preventative Medicine, and children’s health and wellbeing. She also likes to play the Piano and write poems in her spare time.
